See what people say about us
My daughter recently got married at tapton hall. They had a very efficient wedding coordinator named Claire. No detail was too small for her nothing became a problem she calmly guided the couple through the wedding process. The building is a very old stand alone Masonic lodge and beautifully architectured place. Plenty of green space for photos and lovely places in the grounds for memorable shots. The weather was kind to us. We were allowed a (biodegradable only) confetti shot on the steps to the side of the building which was one of the best shots of the day. The wedding room is at the top of the most staggering stairway. Should you and your loved ones want to make an entrance than this is amazing. Even more photo opportunities. The service which was made extremely personal went through with no hitches. The registrar did the legal part and left then there was a sand ceremony with their children and a traditional hand wrapping ceremony linking the two forever. Claire was hovering in the room to ensure everything was as planned as some of the ceremony was personal and was shared with all the congregation having an excellent viewpoint. More photographs and drinks and then into the wedding feasting room. It was so beautiful. My daughter and now husband had been very specific in their choice of table decoration and with the splendour of the table settings looked magnificent. The food which was preordered by guests was served with no fuss and to say there were over 100 guests fresh and piping hot. Later in the evening a hot buffet was provided when all the additional guests had arrived. It was barbecue style quality food with options for guests with other dietary needs. The lighting and sound system were good for speeches and the dance floor prepared for party. The drinks flowed the photographer mingled and a splendid time was had by all. Many many guests commented to me that it was the best wedding they’d attended. The venue is suitable for anyone with mobility difficulties with a lift and disabled facilities. The bar staff who were under pressure and worked hard were pleasant. Bar prices reasonable not hyper inflated which was good. Smoking area outside away from the entrance and cover in case of bad weather. All the time Claire was hovering and checking that everything was running smoothly. She is an asset to the company. A wonderful day in an amazing venue which you can tailor to your own needs requirements and budget. Should you be looking for a quality wedding venue in the area I highly recommend you visit. Making a wedding ceremony and everything that goes to making a day memorable isn’t easy and when it runs seamlessly you know they did a good job. I know my daughter and son in law will have a happy marriage which all started at tapton hall.
This place is just great for weddings I have been to many including my own!! very professional staff and the grounds are superb for photographs well worth a visit
This was our first visit to Tapton in over 2 years. We being a group of over 80 retired staff from a well known high street store, use to visit Tapton twice a year. We held a Summer Salmon and Strawberry Lunch, and a Christmas Lunch. This must have taken place for over 20 years, and we were always highly delighted with the food and service we received, until our last function there in December 2015. Everything had changed, the quality of the food was very poor, the staff were new and no where near
as efficient as we had previously encountered. We contacted the management toinform them of our disappointment, but never received a reasonable reply. Consequently we found another venue for our functions.
On Sunday 4 of our committee members were invited to lunch. What a total transformation, they now have a new chef and Becki who welcomed us is the hospitality manager. The menu choice was either for 2 or 3 courses, with a good selection of starters and mains and cold desserts. We all chose melon to start which was beautifully presented and very refreshing. Then went onto traditional Sunday Lunch with a choice of Beef or Turkey. The portions were quite large, with a freshly made yorkshire pudding and delicious roasted potatoes and root vegetables. A lovely way to spend Sunday Lunch with friends. Thank you Becki and staff we will be passing on our delightful experience to our members.
We had our wedding breakfast and reception at Tapton Hall and I must say it was amazing. A stunningly decorated location that oozes class and history. The food for our wedding breakfast was perfect and the buffet was both excellent and generous. All of my family and friends had a fantastic day and I cannot recommend the location highly enough if you are considering it for a function.
This is a long review as I have so many things to say. We got engaged last January and married in December. From the offset, Becki at Tapton was incredibly helpful with the planning of our wedding. Nothing was too much trouble, Becki liaised with all the people involved in the wedding, and was also happy to answer my million emails and questions. On the day itself, we knew that everything was in great hands and didn't have to think about anything, just enjoy the day.
We had two hundred people to our wedding and a few more to the evening. Tapton Hall was perfect for such a big wedding. The large bar area and different rooms meant that there was plenty of space for everybody. We had the meal and dance floor in the larger room, the evening buffet in the medium room and a creche for the kids in the small room. This allowed those who wanted to chat to chat, and those who wanted to dance to dance away. The bar is quite large so plenty of space for everybody, with comfortable seats and space for everyone to mill around during the drinks reception. We also had a photo booth, again, plenty of space. For weddings of different sizes, the rooms can be used individually so that there isn't too much space.
The entrance hall and stair case were a really nice welcome to the venue, and great for the photographs. We got married at Christmas so the trees were up giving it a really cosy, festive feel.
The speed of service for such a large wedding was incredible, everybody was able to eat together, and enjoy their food while it was hot. The food itself was delicious. The mini Yorkshire pudding canapé was my favourite. We had pie and mash for mains and it was yummy! We had lots of really positive comments about how nice the food was.
The bar was well stocked and we were able to choose a barrel of beer from a local brewery to have on tap. My husband doesn't like wine and this was catered for during the meal with some beers put out for him on the table. These little touches were really lovely. I didn't actually get a round in as my wedding dress didn't have any pockets, but I'm assured that the bar was really reasonably priced. We did have a tab for our guests and it actually didn't come to anywhere near as much as we expected! And I don't think anybody held back,
The age range at our wedding was from three months to ninety six years. There is a cloak room and baby changing facilities attached to the ladies toilets in a separate little room. There is also a comfy chair there (in the separate cloak room, not the bathroom) which my friends with small babies really appreciated! There is also a lift and a separate disable toilet. Everyone was able to enjoy the day to the fullest.
I cannot recommend Tapton Hall, Becki and the rest of her team enough. For us, it was the perfect place for our wedding reception, and the day was perfect thanks to all of their hard work.
We initially went to Tapton Hall wedding fair, and before we went it was just to get some ideas...as soon as we walked in and saw the space and met Becki, the events planner, we knew that this was the place for us.
Our big day was over a year in the planning and Becki has been fantastic throughout - maintaining phone and email contact whenever we needed and making sure whatever we wanted we got where possible.
Compared to other venues the price was incredibly reasonable and the food we had for the wedding breakfast was exactly what we wanted - a good mix of homely and impressive for the main meal and the evening 'ploughman's buffet' we had tailor-made was just wonderful. Becki sorted out the table dressing for our day, decorating the bar etc and nothing was too much trouble...we would recommend Tapton Hall as a wedding venue in a heartbeat.
Have attended a few events at Tapton 2new years eve celebrations charity function a and mothering Sunday this year .Food service and atmosphere always really good the team do a fantastic job
We went there for afternoon tea. The selection of sandwiches was great, everything was really fresh and the cakes were delightful. Plenty of tea and coffee when we asked for more, we would definitely go again.
We arranged a Year 6 Leavers' party at Tapton Hall. Becki, the Hospitality Manager, is amazing! She was so helpful during the organisation process and brilliant on the night. She even entertained the kids with party games! The venue was perfect for the occasion and allowed the children to enjoy the DJ and entertainment in one big room, the food was served in another, and there was a spacious bar area where the parents could mingle and chat. It was a lovely evening and I would thoroughly recommend Tapton Hall for a big occasion.
